“Alcohol”
Definition: There is a great deal milk of mythology associated with the
effects of alcohol on sexual behavior. The
reality is that small quantities of alcohol can act on the brain in such a
way as to reduce anxiety and inhibition, allowing a person to act on sexual
thoughts and feelings that they repress. Alcohol does not create sexual
interest; rather, it simply has releasing effect on inhibitions.

Even small amounts of beer or wine can reduce self-discipline and impulse
control and produce increased sexual risk-taking. Alcohol not only
produces inhibition, but also reduces judgment and common sense and may
lead to neglecting to use contraception, or becoming involved in coercive
or exploitive sex.

Heavy use of alcohol can reduce vaginal wetness and interfere with
orgasm.

Chronic drinking suppresses
