“Backwards
Cowgirl” Definition:
Slang term for the
sexual position where a woman “rides” a man facing in the direction
of his feet, while he lays on his back.
“Bareback”
Definition: A term used for having
sex without condom. While barebacking can be used for both straight and gay
sex, it has been adopted by the gay community specifically to refer to
unprotected
anal sex.
“Barrier Methods”
Definition: contraceptive methods
that prevent living sperms from getting through the fallopian tubes and
possibly fertilizing an ovum. The
condom, or
rubber, is the only barrier method used by males. The
diaphragm, vaginal
sponge and
cervical cap are barrier
methods used by women.
“Bartholin’s glands”
Definition: Glands located on each
side of the inner vaginal lips (labia minora). These glands have outlets
near the vaginal opening, and when a woman is sexually excited they produce
a very small amount of fluid that moistens the vestibule or space enclosed
by the labia.
“Beaver”
Definition: A slang term for
vagina.
“Bestiality”
Definition: The physical contact
between a person and an animal for the purpose of producing
sexual arousal or
orgasm.
“Birth canal” Definition: The passage through
which the baby passes during the birth process. The
cervix,
vagina and
vulva
are the main structures of the birth canal.
“Birth control”
Definition:
The intentional prevention of
pregnancy. Contraceptive methods include
abstinence
from intercourse, natural
family-planning methods, oral contraceptives,
barrier methods, tubal
ligation and a new hormonal method called horplant that prevents
ovulation.
"Bisexual"
Definition:
An
individual who fells attracted to both men and women and without further
alteration to sexual orientation. |
“Bisexuality”
Definition: A sexual
orientation in which a person receives emotional and sexual satisfaction
from persons of both sexes. Both men and women can have a bisexual
orientation.
“Bottom”
Definition: The name for the
“receiver” of
anal sex.
“Boner”
Definition: Slang term for an
erection.
“Boning”
Definition:
Slang tem for having
sex.
“Breath
Play” Definition:
Restricting your partners breathing during sex by strangulation or suffocation for sexual pleasure.
“Blue Balls”
Definition:
A slang term for the unpleasant sensation that occurs when a man becomes
sexually aroused without ejaculating. The feeling of general discomfort and
tenderness in his testicles will come out possibly because of the bluish
tint that appears when blood engorges the vessels.
“Body hair”
Definition:
The term generally
used to describe the hair that appears under a person’s arms (axillary
hair), in the pubic area (pubic hair), on the legs and arms and, in men, on
the chest and back. Hair growth in these areas and on the face (in men) is
triggered at puberty by changing hormone levels. The adult distribution of
hair is secondary sex characteristics. Body hair traps perspiration,
resulting in the smell called body odor. Simple washing with soap and water
in the area is usually enough to prevent it from becoming offensive or
embarrassing. The amount of body hair on an individual is due to inherited
factors such as genetic makeup and racial background.
“Body Image”
Definition: The
concept a person has of his or her own body and how the person believes he
or she is seen by others.
“Breast Augmentation”
Definition:
It is plastic surgery procedure that utilizes silicone or gel implants to
increase breast size. |
“Bondage and Discipline (B&D)”
Definition: A type
of sexual behavior
in which being bound or physically restrained and punished, or simply being
threatened with any of those acts, is necessary for a person to achieve
sexual gratification. This type of sexual behavior is not common and is
associated with sadomasochism, in which
the sadist gets sexual satisfaction from making the threats, with the
masochist getting sexual satisfaction from being treated in that fashion.
“Bonding”
Definition: The
process of becoming attached to someone through continual exposure to that
person. The term usually refers to the time immediately after birth and
during the first hours and days when the infant is in physical contact with
the mother and the father, if the father is present and understands the
opportunity for bonding.
“Bradley-husband-coached method”
Definition: A
childbirth method in which the husband, or another appropriately trained
person, coaches the woman in delivering the baby without medication. The
coach and mother take the special classes during the middle and end of the
pregnancy to learn proper body position, pushing, breathing and relaxation
techniques.
“Braxton Hicks Contractions”
Definition:
The painless contractions of the uterus many women feel before the start
of their actual labor.
“Breakthrough Bleeding”
Definition: Bleeding
from the vagina between regular menstrual periods occurring in women who
take oral contraceptives-in effect, “breaking through” the hormonal effect
of the contraceptive, which is to keep the uterine lining intact until after
the last pill is taken.
“Breast
Feeding” Definition:
It the practice of feeding an infant by having
him or her nurse at the breast.
“Breech Birth” Definition:
A vaginal birth in which the baby’s buttocks, shoulder or feet
come out first. |
“Breast” Definition:
Located within the
tissue of the chest wall and in women made up of the nipple, areola and
breast tissue. Inside the female breast there are glands that produce milk
after delivery of a baby, ad milk ducts that convey the milk from the glands
to the nipple. The rest pf the breast is made up of the fatty tissue and
fibrous tissue that give it its shape.
“Breast Prosthesis”
Definition: An
internal, fitted artificial breast that is used to enhance appearance after
a mastectomy.
“Breast Reconstruction”
Definition: A
surgical procedure for the reshaping of the breast after surgical treatment
of breast disease, usually mastectomy.
“Breast Reduction”
Definition: A
surgical procedure for reducing breast size.
“Breast Self-Examination (BSE)”
Definition: An
important health care procedure in which woman examine their own breasts
each month to be certain there are no breast tissue abnormalities. The
earlier a breast problem is detected, the easier it is to treat
successfully. It is wise for a woman to begin this self-examination right
after puberty and continue monthly throughout her lifetime.
“Buttocks”
Definition: The lower posterior
portion of the body trunk composed of fat and muscle.
