“Daisy
Chain” Definition:
A group sex activity in which there is a
linking of several people by
oral sex.
“Deep
Throat” Definition:
A slang term used for a type of fellatio in
which the partner of the man takes his whole penis into their mouth and deep
throats it by relaxing their throat muscles and lessening their gag reflex.
“Diaphragm”
Definition:
A contraceptive;
a dome-shaped rubber device with a flexible rim that is placed in the vagina
behind the pubic bone. It completely covers the opening to the cervix and
forms a barrier that prevents sperm from moving through the
cervix
into the uterus.
“Dilation
and Curettage (D&C)” Definition:
A surgical procedure in which the
cervix is gradually opened (dilation) and the uterine tissue is gently
scraped with a medical instrument called a curette (curettage). This is used
to examine uterine tissue in order to discover the causes of abnormal
bleeding or spotting, to determine the presence of fibroid growths and to
treat endometrial polyps. It may also be used to prevent infection after an
incomplete abortion or to deliver a placenta that does not leave the uterus
after delivery.
“Dilation
and Evacuation (D&E)” Definition:
An abortion method used between 13
and 18 weeks (sometimes up until 20) of pregnancy. The cervix is dilated and
fetal and placental tissue is drawn out by suction. A curette is inserted
into the uterus to remove any remaining fetal tissue. A general anesthetic
is usual, and the procedure is performed in a hospital or surgical clinic.

“Dildo”
Definition: A sex toy, frequently penis-shaped
object, intended for bodily interaction during masturbation or sexual
intercourse.
“Dirty
Sanchez” Definition:
Is a term used to describe the sexual practice
of smearing fecal matter under the nose of the giving partner in the form of
a mustache during
oral sex, 1usually
accomplished by inserting a finger into one’s anus and wiping the material
gathered onto the upper lip of one’s partner.
“Discharge” Definition:
The passing of secretions, including those
from the vagina. Vaginal discharge comes from a mixture of the natural in
the walls of the
vagina, glands in the cervix
and Bartholin’s glands. Under everyday normal conditions this fluid has very
little odor, is clear or somewhat white and does not burn or itch.
Foul-smelling, burning or slightly colored (gray, yellow, and green)
discharge usually signals the presence of an infection that must be
medically checked. Discharge from the
penis
may
have a number of causes. It may be a sign of gonorrhea (if the male is
sexually active) or non-gonococcal urethritis. Both diseases require
antibiotic treatment.
“Doggy
Style” Definition:
Is a sex position. This name refers to the
initial position assumed by dogs when mating.
“Domestic
Partners” Definition:
Is a legal term in some domains for two
persons in a long-term committed relationship. The term is not limited to
homosexual
partners.

Definition: A method of washing out
the
vagina.
“Drag Queen”
Definition: An entertainer. Generally a lesbian
man who dresses in clothing usually linked with men.
“Duke’s
test” Definition:
A blood test to determine whether a woman’s
body has developed antibodies against her partner’s sperm. If a couple is
having difficulties becoming pregnant, this is one of the tests used to try
to discover the cause.
“Dysmenorrhea” Definition:
Painful menstruation, especially abdominal
cramps, spasms, and back pain, sometimes radiating into the legs. Primary
dysmenorrhea is menstrual discomfort that is unrelated to any other physical
problem. Secondary dysmenorrheal is the result of a disorder such as
endometriosis or pelvic inflammatory disease.
“Dyspareunia” Definition:
Intercourse
related pain occurring mostly among women Usually related to vaginitis.
“Dysplasia” Definition:
Is a term used in pathology to refer to an
abnormality in maturation of cells within a tissue. This generally consists
of an expansion of immature cells, with a corresponding decrease in the
number and location of mature cells. Dysplasia is often indicative of an
early neo-plastic process. The term dysphasia is typically used when the
cellular abnormality is restricted to the originating tissue.
