“Ectopic Pregnancy”
Definition:
A pregnancy in
which a fertilized egg starts to develop outside, rather than within, the
uterus.
“Ejaculation”
Definition:
The
men’s discharge of semen following orgasm.
“Ejaculatory Ducts”
Definition:
Ducts within the
prostate gland formed by the ends of the vas deferens and seminal vesicle.
About an inch long, these ducts lead to the urethra. During
sexual arousal, semen collects in the
ejaculatory ducts. When excitement reaches its peak, a spinal reflex causes
the general duct area to contract and propel the
semen
out of the urethra in spurts.
“Endocrine Gland” Definition:
A gland that secretes a substance, such as
a hormone directly into the bloodstream or lymph system, which is then
carried throughout the body. The pituitary and thyroid are endocrine glands,
as are the testes and ovaries.
“Epididymis” Definition:
A tightly coiled tube that adheres to the back
surface of each testes and acts as a storage and maturation chamber for
newly formed sperm.
Sperm remain in the
epididymis for weeks until they are ejaculated. If not, they are simply
absorbed by the surrounding tissues.
“Epididymitis”
Definition:
An
inflammation of the epididymis caused by bacterial that migrate from the
urinary tract. Antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs cure the condition.
“Episiotomy” Definition:
A surgical incision made between the anus and
the vagina during labor, when the baby’s head is pressing against the
vaginal opening.
"Ephebophila"
Definition: A state in which an adult, usually male, is sexually
attracted to young people about the age of adolescence.
“Erection” Definition:
The
penis hard-on as men gets aroused. A spontaneous erection may occur as being
pulses sent by the brain. |
“Erectile dysfunction or
Impotence”
Definition: A
sexual
dysfunction characterized by the inability to develop or maintain an
erection of the
penis.
“Erogenous Zone” Definition:
Any
spot sensitive to sexual stimulation.
“Erotica”
Definition: Refers to work of art,
including literature, photography, film, sculpture and painting that deal
substantively with erotically stimulating or arousing descriptions.
“Erotic
Fantasy” Definition: An intentional flight
of the imagination or pattern of thoughts with the goal of creating or
enhancing sexual feelings.
“Estrogen” Definition:
The female sex hormone, produced by the
female ovaries.
“Excitement” Definition:
The early stage of the
sex response cycle. In women, during this period vaginal lubrication
occurs due to sexual stimulation, which may
be physical, psychological, or both. Nipple erection, quickening pulse rate,
and higher blood pleasure also occur during this phase. In the excitement
phase in men, the most obvious bodily changes occur as the result of extra
blood erection of the
penis,
nipple erection, and quickening pulse rate.
“Exhibitionism” Definition:
The compulsive act of publicly exposing the
genitals for the purpose of
sexual arousal
and gratification.
“Extramarital Sex” Definition:
This occurs when a married person engages
in sexual activity with someone other than
their marriage partner. It is similar to adultery. This does not include
fornication, which is sexual
intercourse
between non-married people, or a married man and a non-married woman.
“External
Genitals” Definition:
those genital parts that can be seen. In
women, these are the labia, clitoris, and the vaginal entranceway. In men,
the external genitals are the
penis and
scrotum.
